How to obtain a real estate license in Ontario


Obtaining a Real Estate License in Ontario

In order to practice real estate in Ontario you must be licensed by the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) and you must have completed the mandatory licensing education program.

 

Eligibility - To be eligible to apply for real estate license you must:

Have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent or 

• Be at least 18 years old and pass a qualifying admission test

• Complete all the pre-registration Real Estate Licensing Courses within 18 months

• Obtain a Police Check

• Register with a Brokerage

• Apply to RECO

• Obtain 2 year Provisional License

• Complete the Articling Segment within 2 years

• Apply to RECO

• Obtain Permanent License

• Complete Continuing Education courses every 2 years
